Karin Marjapuu - Head of Operational Efficiency in Ericsson Estonia

Karin has a bachelor's degree in chemical and materials management and a master's degree in business management at Tallinn University of Technology. She has worked at Ericsson Estonia for 12 years, during which she enjoyed various challenges in supply chain and quality management as well as managing the production projects unit. All different roles have supported the transformation of Ericsson's Tallinn plant from mass production to a development and industrialization center. Currently being the Head of Operational Efficiency and a member of Ericsson Estonia's management, Karin's main tasks are to support the implementation of the plant's strategy, manage improvement activities, process and quality management and lead sustainability. Ericsson Estonia has been systematically dealing with sustainability and carbon neutrality for a long time, and it has also been set as one of its strategic goals. As an employer, Ericsson involves and supports all of its two thousand employees in sustainability topics and initiatives - we believe that everyone can influence the environment around us - we just have to make informed decisions for this! Ericsson's goal is to carry out a green revolution and be carbon neutral in all its activities by 2030, thereby meeting the expectations of customers, employees and investors.

Having spent a lot of time in the forests of Setomaa as a child, nature and foraging play a big role in Karin's life. It is this that has laid the foundation for the principles of her nature-sustaining life. Her dream and also her goal is that we as humanity no longer harm nature with our activities, but focus on renewable energy sources, preserve our forests and lands for future generations. Karin's motto in life is "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right in any case." (Henry Ford)
